CNY Reunion Steamboat

CNY reunion gathering at my hse, only lynn, xin and roy came. I met them at fairprice to get the ingredients for our steamboat session. We spent 40 bucks for all the food, drinks and dessert (ice-cream). Bought too much, cus we cant finish in the end. Lynn suggested to have sambal kangkong as she said she saw her mum cooked b4, so roughly know how to do it. Roy claimed that he knew how to cook this dish as well.

Reached my hse, and we started to prepare the food. I marinated the minced pork and asked my maid to prepare the sambal kangkong, but as usual she’s kind of slow in cooking. So roy volunteered to do the fying of this dish. The was actually our 重头菜. Haha. Dur the process, we were still as doubtful abt his cooking skills. And he rebutted he used to score well in home econs. Haha. Well, like said, used to.. Lol.

 A series of funny happenings dur cooking, preparing and even eating: 

煮菜篇：Lynn placed her spoon in front of the wok waiting for chef roy to pose with her, but roy goes like: Why is ur spoon dangling infront of me for so long. “Zor2 Dang3″ I think chef roy was too focus on his dish.

Our critic is: 架势是味道十足，煮出来的菜味道就不足了，不够入味。

After finished the cooking, we sat down to place all the ready-to-cook food onto the plates. 

备菜篇1：I was telling my bro to change his clothes as he’s still wearing his uniform. And after I said so, roy reacted saying: 可不可以换一下… OS: Wat is he trying to ask my bro to change to? Then he continued…垃圾袋. Ok he’s asking me to change the plastic bag as the bin was full. But he almost immediately 接话，难怪我会有遐想rite? Lol.

OS: I LOVE DANGHOON!!!

Simply cant get his hands off the bowl of danghoon still. Although it’s his fav. but we still left alot of danghoon at the end of the day. Ha~!

吃饭篇：Roy and lynn were bickering as usual, they were debating over like whose beautiful and handsome issue. And just when my bro was getting himself some coke in a corner, while he was pouring the drink into his cup, lynn turned to my bro and said: 我美对吗？My bro stunned and stoned there for a moment. And we all broke into laughter. His reaction so cute, 就定格在那里. Haha. 

After steamboat, went to my room to update xin abt the recent blog storm. Haha. And we watched a few youtube videos after that. Roy showed us the “The Annoying Orange” vids, super duper irritating but funny.

Anyway, Hey orange, Hey apple. We had fun! Roy was saying he would be the orange if he needs to choose one of the fruits. 举双手赞成. The “The Annoying Roy” . Lol.

Annoying Act 1:  Roy purposely shot a that CLOSE close up when we asked him to take a pic for us. So when it’s his turn, he was cut off by xin. Good job xin. Haha.

See, pretty much fits “The Annoying Roy” name rite?  名不虚传吧！To add on, he looks like he’s selling his bloated tummy. Haha.

Went downstairs 3^rd floor’s void deck to enjoy our king’s chocolate ice-cream dessert. The place was windy and we had a great chat too. That marks the end of our reunion dinner. It’s nice to catch up like this.

Lovely talks and walks

Fri met lynn and sharon at lakeside’s mrt at 1pm after collecting my passport at china embassy. But i reached pretty early so waited for 45mins while sitting down to read i and u weekly. Trip to lakeside was actually to buy the simliar wall papers i bought from jb. Accrd to sharon, her hse there de pasar malam selling alot more designs. So i went to take a look, it’s even cheaper than jb $2 bucks each. Anyway i bought 3. Has pasted them on my walls and cabinets. Shifted the windows stickers onto the wall instead. Here’s the new look.

After lunch, i suggested to go sharon’s hse as we’ve got nowhere to go, and since i have to wait til 5pm b4 i head for my tuition. Chatted for nearly 3 hrs or so. All abt friendship. Well, it looks as though everything is still the same like b4, but i guess there’s alot of things gg on undernealth. Whether anyone realises or not. It will nv be the same.

不管是有意还是无意。假装不知还是后知后觉抑或真的当局者迷沉浸其中而不得知。一切以成定局。
*Oh i like this sentence so much. Haha.

PDA原来不只是爱情可以。为什么要做到那么明显，对旁人视若无睹。有想过别人的感受吗？

有时纯聊天也可以很FULFILLING.ENJOY与否就要看人看事了。

Sat went out with mummy in the evening to bishan. Heard from the news, there’s this big pasar malam with hundreds over stalls so we specially went down to take a look. Mummy still took leave from work for the evening. But well, to our disappointment, we only spent less than 2 hrs there, so dun need say, u all get it rite. There’s alot of empty spaces, apparently not all stalls are rented out. Din buy much since there’s nth much. Only bought a plant call 荷包花，寓意荷包满满。Cus the fruits were bloated by nature as if it’s filled with stuff. I like the shape of the plant, intend to hang on my room’s window grills. Mummy bought a bottle of nonya pineapple tarts. 

We headed down to chinatown. 姜还是老的辣，老招牌就是金漆招牌。Unlike bishan, chinatown was crowded with ppl. How shld i describe, with a cliche saying, 人山人海.

Accompanied mum to choose some cny decorations, got 4 chinese lanterns, slightly diff from the usual round ones, is those 古典 feel. 今天是花的购物日。Bought another 3 pots of flowers.

Mummy and I both saw a hand-stitch portrait of a gp of pandas with bamboos at the 标会.  Actually can request the person to take that item out but the rule is u have to bid for it. 价高者得。We dared not as there’s so much ppl, maybe cus it’s sat esp. Both mummy and I scared later ppl jack up the price then someone else got it instead So we decided to come on another day when there’s lesser crowds.

Sun night after my work, daddy fetched mummy and i to mustafa. Cus mummy wanna buy new bowls. She bought 16 bowls, like tat $40 over already. Din noe bowls are tat ex. Haha. And we went to the flowers section to take a look, in the end only got a vase, mummy cant make up her mind while choosing, kept on changing one to the other. Haha. She wanna on the tv console for deco. I rem the very last time i went there was with daddy only. Nice, 1st time gg with both of them. Midnight shopping is fun! Cus the whole shopping mall not many ppl, and we could walk freely in there.

We had supper at a coffee shop near mustafa, i was craving for frog legs actually but this shop doesnt have. So we ate chicken rice and mutton soup. Chicken rice so so, but mutton soup not bad, given alot of meat and it’s cooked with herbs. So mummy was happily drinking up the whole bowl of soup, she said it’s good for health: 可以补身体，我身体很弱，and she was telling daddy to dabao for me when he dropped by nxt time. Daddy jokingly said: 喝了可以年轻十岁. Haha. Mummy *emchio-ing* replied: 讽刺啊？We all broke into laughter. Oh and the dialects of coffee. ”kopi ka dai”, so it’s the mixture of both hokkien and canto, just like our singlish, i think it’s in the genes of singaporeans jiapalang languages,  talks and cultures. 

这样的感觉真好。

我刚刚看到一个东西，为什么嘴巴明明说不喜欢，可是却要表现出另一种态度。就算是附和，也没必要那样吧。不明白。太随和的人就会这样吗。我不是生气，只是纳闷。

好无聊的一天

I’m only starting to feel bored today. Maybe cus not much working schedule, outings recently and most imptly i’ve finished all my dvds. Sobz. Supposedly to have tution this evening, but i suddenly dun feel like gg out. Lazy to travel.  Tmr i still need to dropby redhill to get my visa passport, i changed tuition to tmr instead since on the way same direction to cck. I chose to stay at home, yet im feeling bo liao. I was practically walking around my hse, and dazing into space while sitting in my room. Shld have start packing my luggage if i’ve got nth to do, but cant bring myself to do it now. So went serving the net, after checking mail, clicking blogs and fb here and there to see if there’s anything i could see or read. Well, online is definitely not my way of passing time.

Anyway china embassy has bad attitude staff and poor management. Can you imagine having to queue up under the sun, outside the gate for half an hr just to get in. They shld adopt the electronic queuing system like our immigration isnt it? Gosh. And just to submit the application form to the counter in which the process last less than 2 mins. If that’s the case, why cant they be more high tech and just accept online applications. Still need fix timing to go there, like can only apply in the morning til 11.30am. Seriously ridiculous. And i need to go bk 4 days later to collect it and same must be b4 11.30am. Make me wake up so early for both days. Kns.

I just dun like ppl who can’t keep up to promises. If you are not sure, dun make empty promises then. As simple as that.

有些人一点也不可靠，随时变卦，这类型的朋友我最讨厌也最害怕，更糟糕的是心情像天气一般变幻莫测。

说句难听的，为什么要用热脸去贴冷屁股，处处碰壁。这叫什么，自讨没趣；自讨苦吃。

还好，我们并不熟。

I love White!

Went ikea with lynn and roy on fri, i’m thinking of using my vouchers, since bel rather unsure whether she needs it anot. So decided not to wait for her le. Have been aiming to get a study table since i moved hse, but the other time at ikea, saw a nice white study table but too expensive nearly $700, so i gave up the idea of getting one.  This time round, i went to ikea’s website to browse thru the catalogue and saw a similar white table costing $99 only. Although smaller, but it fits my theme. As alot knows im really in love with white furnitures (match and blend well with my cottage flora prints), and i dun own one in the past cus my mum always think white gets dirty easily. Well apparently, it’s true. But dun care, i still love it! No matter clothes or furnitures. It’s my lasting fav. colour. Haha. And to my surprise, seems that ikea this season has alot of white furnitures, from dressing table, wardrobes, to book shelves, tables… If i could afford i would get a set of cus. 

Fri’s trip was to bio 1st. Dun intend to buy cus i doubt i can carry home myself. Shld be heavy. Dad has promised to accompany the next day to get them, as he wanted to look for a small cabinet too.  And i made the right choice to go see 1st, cus we reached rather late on sat night at 8.30pm. Dun have much time to shop actually, felt like i’m rushing throughout, felt giddy all of a sudden with the fast pace walk. Simply dun like rushing to shop, shopping will only be enjoyable if u can take  ur own sweet time at ur own speed own target. It shld be anyway. Luckily i’ve more or less decided on wat to buy already. If not, maybe i will be home empty-handed.  

This was the initial shelf i aimed to get on fri at $99. But still, i kind of change my mind a little on sat when i saw another big bookshelf with glass doors at $199. I stick bk to the earlier one as daddy thought the latter abit bulky as i dun have so much books to store too. Actually i was thinking of putting some ornaments in it. That’s my piority. Haha.  

Boy boy went along too, and got himself a white study table too. That’s the only colour for this design so no choice lo. I reckon white will turn grey soon under his hands. Haha. His table’s length is slightly longer than mine at $39 nia. Mine was more ex cus the desgin is nicer and it’s with drawer. Yea yea.

 

Spent $400 after deduction of  the $70 vouchers.We self collected all of them, fetched them home and carried them up with the additional help of bro and maid coming down. Anyway had late dinner at henderson teochew porridge. Love the potatos, soft and tasty. 

Reached home at 11 plus. Boy and i were so excited abt our new furnitures and almost immediately we sat down to start assemble them with the instructions from the booklet. Boy’s one was simple, just fix the legs to the table top will do. But mine was not easy, my table was the most complicated with tons of holes and nails to connect. We spent 3 hrs to get it done. Filled with sweat. Daddy helped us with the tools here and there. Only managed to complete 2, left with another 2 will do it later.

Daddy bought the cabinet above for himself actually. But i coup from him, cus it’s white, can make it a set with my table and shelf. Thanks daddy! I suggested to put the shelf on top of the cabinet, cus the shelf itself is abit too low for display if i placed on the floor. So daddy helped to drill and attached the 2 pieces into 1 . We spent the whole of mon doing it. Removed the base out as the surface is too broad. So I used it as an extra coffee table. Wee~

My hse downstairs pasar malam has a stall selling some cottage cloths at affordable prices. I bought a cushion cover with hearts $5 and  2 flora carpets $25 and placed them on my sofa.

Patience needs passion to sustain. Opportunities, did i made the wrong choice again. It’s wrong in the 1st place, right  from the begining.

何谓“爱”？

*纳闷*现在的人怎们那么容易把“爱”这个字挂在嘴边。相处久了，喜欢才会深化/升华为爱。我不知道别人怎么想，但我是这么认为的。两人之间的回忆，经过越多，留下越多，就足以成为爱的足迹。长年累月，就成为爱的印迹。

试问没有共度过很长的日子或深刻的经历，要以什么去评估/支持那份所谓的爱。姑且算有，那又有多深呢？为什么在一起很多年的情侣在分手后，很容易又复合。身边朋友的例子不计其数。因为回想过去的日子和时光，才发现其实还爱着对方。跳过朋友阶段的爱，根基就不怎么稳了吧，了解是需要时间的，没有一个人能够完全了解另一个人。不够了解，一昧地爱可以sustain多久？除非你们是前世情缘，今生再续。

也许人的心理构造有够复杂的，每个人的感情运作方式因人而异。但是瞬间的爱转眼即逝，我还是喜欢在了解之后细水长流的爱，波涛汹涌的暴风雨，来的快，结束得也快。

爱一个人，不会中伤对方，让对方难过。真正爱一个人，即使对方伤害了你，你还是会想对她好，最后还是选择原谅/体谅，这才叫爱吧。

有负担的爱，不叫爱，而是自己期许中想要的爱，这种爱严格说起来是自私的爱。不是为对方设想的爱也许也不是真正的爱。

当爱成为负担，就无所谓爱了。

一开始就不断强调‘爱’这个字眼不是每个人都可以take it的，太沉重了，‘喜欢’相对就比较mild. 刚开始，还是循序渐进的好。欲速则不达。

以上是我个人对“爱”的见解。

Foot Massage at JB

Went jb with sharon today. Before tat went dbs bank to do the new dbs visa debit card. Reached there at 4pm, was crazily hungry, had lunch at old town white coffee. Had the usual ipoh noodles. The soup is still as nice. Sharon had prawn noodles which looks spicy, well she said indeed it was. Haha.

Shop at city square 1st then cab to holiday plaza. We tried foot massaging there for 25rm 40mins therapy oh and free 15mins of foot herbal suana, basically is putting ur feet into a tub and steam it. Was told to be able to detox. Our feet was literally “cooked”, so red can, after 15 mins of steaming. Haha. 被蒸熟了！

A lady served me and a guy massage for sharon, she was screaming constantly as she felt pain at several spots pressed on her feet. Think her liver, gastric super painful. Wonder if it’s cus guy’s 力道较强。I ok, only felt a little painful at the spots which reflects my gastric and back/spine. Yup i knew my digestion not very good and 背部容易酸痛 if my standing/seating postition not right. And the lady said i got alot of wind in my body. But cus it’s a malay lady so she dun understand what i’m saying, hard to ask her which spot reflects wat also. Aga aga guess wat she’s referring to.

I think overall it’s comfortable. Next time shall do again when i drop by. Since it’s quite cheap. Haha. I bought 3 sweet wall papers at a push cart. 3 for 20rm. Good deal! Other places selling so ex. I pasted them on my wardrobe.

Dinner at pizza hut. Finally tried something new. As they changed their menu, got quite a few new dishes. The masala rice with bbq sauce chicken drumbsticks (Yes those 2 black black thingy). It’s too bbq-ish for me, maybe i shld try the sweet chilli flavour. But i love the masala aromatic rice, fragrant! Wanted to try the dessert Volcano chocolate cake with ice-cream at 1st, but sharon was too full at the end. Shall try it next time.  Reminds me of my long-miss chocolate ice cream cake in china’s pizzahut, was telling sharon wonder if i could get to eat it when in Shanghi. Wooh~Looking Foward (^v^)

I managed to book air tix at last. Cfm flying off on the 24 feb wed 7.35am flight. It cost me $1121 which is considered a better price compared to yest. I was still struggling whether to book yest with huiying but cus was waiting for huiyi’s reply for her (moe arranged) agency’s quotation the next day. Well, received call from her while on my way to jb, it’s $1200, so ex. Kind of disappointed and worried no more seats. Anyway huiying last min changed to book a day earlier as sia open up more time slots. And she told me the price kept changing , and mine would be $1171. 起价了！yest’s price at $1132. To add on to my regrets not booking yest straight.  When i came home just now, immediately went to book my tix, sticked back to 24th since there’s no space for hy’s flight on 23rd already. And i’m lucky! The price dropped somehow. $1121, It’s even cheaper than yest’s price. Haha. Heng arh~ Air tix settled. Mind set at ease now.

Updates…

Everyone around me has started school. And i’m still slacking at home. *Envious of myself too* Haha. But i’m having a headache settling all the pre-departure stuff for shanghi. Visa, insurance and vaccination… Air tix haven cfm yet. B4 i leave, have to spend a bomb. 1000plus for airtix. Heartache. For my mum. Heex. Poly got subsidies air tix tat time leh. Haiz uni…

These few days have been staying at home watching 妻子的诱惑。100 plus episodes really long, lucky it’s getting more interesting at the back, there’s uexpected twist and another climix, thus i could still follow to watch. If not i dun think i would have such patience if the show gets too draggy.

Met hy to sta at bugis to check out air tix. If can visit hk when i’m over at shanghi, tat will be great! Haha. Dinner had with roy, lynn and janice. Our 胸毛论! 种花、施肥… 水’土’交融! 我们开始进化论了！Well, 我今天真的不是很够睡…

Singing & Shopping

Wed met sharon, pq and ming hao(sharon’s sec friend) for k session. Booked k box at 1st but cus k student needs everyone to have member, yet i dun have one, although i often sing. Maybe cus everyone around me has it so i din apply back then. Yup, anyway lucky us took a risk to ten ktv, and we got a 4pax room, just nice, better than the 6pax room i booked and cancelled earlier on.

I brought them to the tiong bahru chicken rice for dinner. Looks like i often bring friends there whenever we’re in chinatown. Were chatting randomly when we talked abt fashion and clothings. Mh was saying that he wanted to get a shocking yellow cardigan but coulnt find in sg and also a checkered shirt wore by xiao zhu on tv. Sharon and i rem that there’s several shops full of this kinda style in jb, so we were saying of going there for shopping. So we ppl impromtu decided to go the very next day since that’s the only day we’re all free for the week. I still specially went to exchange money. But the trip was cancelled cus mh’s student suddenly request to change tuition to tmr night, god at this time. Will be rush if we go jb, cus mh have to come back before 8pm. Anyway surprisingly, mh knew minchao wor, cus they both from hark music sch.

Sharon came my hse overnight and we watched some korean variety shows of 2pm. Super funny. Laughed til i sorethroat, i mean as in worsened la i few days ago already had some symtoms le. Anyway we laid on bed at 4am and fell asleep at 5 plus. 

Thurs we went shopping in orchard ion and far east as mh suggested, since he’s still free in the noon. And guess wat, in the evening his student called to postpone the tuition cus he’s tired. We shld be in jb by then. So dui la.

Mh suggested to have dinner at a thai restaurant at sun plaza. We took a bus down. The food really nice although the ambience is ok only. Affordable zhu chao price.

After dinner, we past by hark music and sharon spotted a familiar backview, and said: that was minchao right? And indeed it was. Coincidentally, he just finished lesson. And he was so shocked when he saw me, cus he din expect i knew mh. He was saying that it’s so unbeliveable like 3 ”not-linked ppl” actually knew each other. Ok it’s inter-linked. Haha. I’m sharon’s poly friend, mc is her current classmate, mh and mc are music schmate and sharon and mh were sec classmate. Oh so the key person is actually sharon. Haha.

Anyway mc joined us for a walk at ps. Actually we had nth in mind just randomly strolling around aimlessly. Kind of awkward, i was telling sharon like 一群半生不熟的人走在一起. And we all shared the same feel. Weird weird atmosphere. Lol. Sat at burger king to talk and we all left home at 10 plus.

Oh forgot to mention mon just went jb with lynn and royston. Royston第一次破天荒bought alot of things dur his 处女游 to jb. Even more than lynn and i. He bought like 2 caps, 2 t-shirts, 2 berms. Oh WOW! Haha.

Joke of the day. Lynn was asking: “Royston,你有请maid?”  Royston heard, din reply and gave a disgusted look. We were like huh wat kinda reaction was tat?! Then the version he heard was: “Royston,叫我晴妹!” Wahahah~

Roy helped lynn to carry some dvds back but he used his jacket to wrap the dvds cus he scared, so just in case. Both lynn and i just put inside our bag in plastic bags. Then he was stopped at sg custom to be checked. 而我们顺利过关，这就叫做贼心虚了. Haha.

Pat’s 21st!

The 1^st day of 2010 and also the very 1^st birthday party of the new year. It’s pat big day yest! Her 21^st. It was held in her neighbourhood, bishan’s blk 149 bbq pit where there’s 2 pavilions. We had buffet for dinner. Nice catering. Great varieties of food.  I love the thick barley drink. And there’s sushi  from sushi tei too.

                                                                                        

Pq, Sharon, bel, joy and I were among the first few to reach so we had a chance to try every kind of food there 1^st. Haha. Ended up overly-stuffed cus of that too. Lol. Then her other cliques from pri to sec to nie reached subsequently. She’s still in contact with quite a no. of pri sch friends, so envious. I din even have 1, all lost touch already. Haha. Jq, zy, wx came soon after.

We were cam-whoring to pass time. Have been bringing my new digi cam I bought  from IT fair 2 wks ago to recent outings. I’m quite satisfied with it, the effect not bad as compared to my few lousy cams in the past. At least the night mode is still not bad. It’s Panasonic lumix. Originally shld be 200 plus but I bought it at 199 only. And daddy generously offered to subsidies me, at 1^st I still thought of 自掏腰包Thanks daddy!

We tried calling mia hl too, she ans the call but hung up pretty soon after saying hello. Dunno wat has happened to her. But hopefully that she could get back to us once she gets better. Pat’s kind of disappointed her dearest lover tham din come for her 21^st party.

If u need some personal space, we will not disturb u. But at least let us know how u are now. We are all concerned and worried abt u.

U haven visited my new hse and room yet, I think u will like it too. Cus it’s our fav. Cottage style. I’m waiting for u to give me some feedbacks. And jb trips, since so long we last went tgt. I hope to have a complete 4 in Love gathering before I leave for Shanghi. Can we? I’m leaving in mid feb which is pretty soon. Rem that we said we wanna go 横店穿古装拍照，回杭州走走, if possible i wish u all could visit me one of those days when im over there. Contact us and we could make plans k. Take care ya=)

Cut cake at 9pm. Pat’s chocolate cake was customised from sweet secrets too, same as my 21^st cake. But hers was her fav. cartoon character baby tasmania (Did I spell it rite? I’m nt familiar with it. Haha.)  

We left at 10pm. Pq and I tried to find our way out to 3 ah yi’s hse which is at street 13. We were at St 11. We walked quite a dist. Managed to reach there, pq went to ah yi’s hse for mahjong while I headed to bishan mrt. Tmr gt work again.

Just saw my working schedule for the month, kind of back to normal working shifts which is only on every Sundays’ evenings. That means I will be super free until mid feb b4 I fly off. But everyone around me is starting sch soon, who has got the time for me. It’s always like tat. Dec is a mth full of events but I missed a few cus of my hectic working schedule. Now tat I’m free, the  time is not right. Haha. Nvm I shall 和我最爱的港剧相依为命吧。Chiong dvds! Yea yea.

Why do we always have to live up to expectations? Was it expectation of your own or others? Perharps the latter contributes to the former. Then one has no choice but to obliged.
